On 6/29/23 the Parkersburg Police Department held a celebration for the retirement of K9 Cedrick. Along side his experienced and dedicated handler, PFC Dennison, Cedrick honorably served the community of Parkersburg for 6 years and 8 months. Cedrick will be missed and we wish him a long and happy retirement with the Dennison family while relaxing in the sunshine and enjoying treats.

On Friday 5/12/23 Detectives of Parkersburg Police Department arrested Douglas B. Cunningham, 38 of Parkersburg, after he arrived at a prearranged location to meet with and engage in sexual activity with a minor. This arrest was the result of Cunningham initiating a conversation via computer with an undercover detective whom he believed to be a fifteen year old female. Cunningham sent pictures of his face and genitalia and spoke about engaging in sexual activity during the conversation. Cunningham was charged with soliciting a minor via computer and use of obscene matter to seduce a minor. Cunningham was arraigned in Wood County Magistrate Court where he failed to post $50,000 bond and was then transported to North Central Regional Jail.
